Every organizer in this category is sold on how it looks. Two numbers actually decide it -- the rated load and the dimensions -- and almost nobody publishes them side by side. We do, with the source next to each figure.

What we did instead: compiled the published load ratings and dimensions for every pick from the manufacturer's own documentation and product listings, checked them against the doors, walls and cabinets renters actually have, and named every figure nobody publishes. How we pick.
The top pick from each roundup, with the published figure that earned it. Prices come from our live feed; where the feed has no figure the button says so rather than showing an old number.

Every load rating and dimension on this site names the manufacturer document or product listing it was read from. If you think a figure is wrong, you can go and check it in one click.
simplehuman publishes no shelf load for its tension caddy. Two retailers list the same adhesive caddy at 7.5 lb and 6.5 lb. Both appear on this site as findings, not as smoothed-over gaps.
A ranked list where every pick is recommended is a catalog. Each of ours says which product we would tell you not to buy, and why -- usually because its published rating cannot do the job people buy it for.
The four reference tables the rest of the site is built on.
Hanging
0.5 lb to 20 lb, every published rating in one table, with what each figure assumes.
Windows
Published adjustment ranges, how to measure, and why a rod at the end of its range slips.
Closets
Published door limits in one table, plus the top-gap and swing checks nobody mentions.
Shelving
How the three no-drill mechanisms compare on load, room requirements and reversibility.
Tidy & Stow earns a commission when you buy through the Amazon links on this site, at no extra cost to you. It changes nothing about what we recommend: picks are ranked on published load ratings, published dimensions and how cleanly the thing comes off a wall, and we routinely rank a cheaper product above a pricier one and tell you which picks to skip entirely. We accept no free products, run no sponsored placements, and have no relationship with any manufacturer named here.
